Hotel lobby
We arrived to the hotel in the afternoon, and proceeded directly to the front desk. The check-in to the hotel was fairly fast and smooth by polite and helpful staff. The Sofitel Philippine Plaza is supposed to be one of the best 5star hotels at Manila metropolitan area.
The hotel lobby was spacious and comfortable with a huge flower decoration located in the middle of the lobby. The flower decoration was fascinating and attracted the attention of many guests who had to took a picture there.
There are all necessary hotel services located at the lobby as a reception, luggage services, concierge, guest relations, business center, money exchange to name a few. All major credit cards are accepted.
Location
The hotel is located at Manila Bay about 20 minutes drive from the Manila Ninoy Aquino International airport. The venue sits close to Cultural Center of the Philippines, and not far from one of the biggest shopping malls in Asia called Mall of Asia.
Room
The hotel has more than 600 rooms and suites. Our 42sqm Superior Twin Room was spacious and comfortable enough to have a pleasant stay at this property. The great thing is a balcony with seating facilities.
The room was equipped with two comfortable bed with bedside tables, work desk with chair, large flat cable TV, coffee table with chairs, minibar, coffee and tea making facilities and comfortable carpet on the floor. Safe deposit, bathrobes and slippers were placed in the wardrobe together with other basic amenities. Room décor is modern in dark wood and light beige color.
The bathroom is spacious enough equipped with a bathtub, shower corner, wash basins and toilet.
Wifi connectivity was unproblematic.
Restaurants and food
There are 6 restaurants and bars at the hotel. LA VERANDA and SPIRAL are the restaurants offering French and Asian gastronomic experience. The bars and lounges offer drinks, cocktails and French savor small bites namely LE BAR, SNAPS SPORTS BAR, SUNSET BAR or CLUB MILLESIME.
Leisure facilities
Sofitel Manila has a wonderful swimming pool lagoon located in the hotel gardens. The spa, beauty salon, gym, tennis courts are available at the hotel.
Laundry services were not tried.
