Hotel lobby
Lobby is not very large, to be honest, but fully functional spot for the front desk, concierge, baggage porter service and money exchange. We arrived to the hotel in the afternoon, and our checking in was fast and unproblematic. The staff was friendly and polite. There is an access to the Le Bar Rouge lounge and The Square Restaurant. A computer corner for guests use is located there too.
Location
The hotel is located at Clarke Quay in the city center. Singapore Changi international airport is about 30 minutes drive. Clarke Quay area is situated by the banks of Singapore river. This area is a place of lively night life with many good restaurants and bars. It is just 5 minutes by walk to the nearest MRT station or half an hour walk to the Singapore iconic Merlion statue fountain.
Room
The hotel has more than 400 rooms and suites. Our 32sqm Superior room was spacious enough furnished in simple and modern style, in bright look. The biggest plus is a balcony which is very rare feature of the modern city hotels these days but very much accepted. The room is equipped with comfy beds, work desk with chair, small sofa, large flat TV with DVD player, minibar, coffee and tea kettle as well as wardrobe with a safe deposit. The bathroom is not huge equipped with a bath tub, shower corner and toilet. All necessary bathroom amenities are there too.
Wifi connection was good, and laundry is, of course, available but was not tried.
Restaurants and food
There is one restaurant and one bar lounge at the hotel. The Square Restaurantserves plentiful breakfast. Food selection is more than satisfactory, from western to Asian options. The restaurant serves international dishes after breakfast hours. To be honest, there is no need for more restaurants at the hotel as the area around is full of great venues for eating.
Leisure facilities
There is an outdoor swimming pool and fitness center at the hotel.
